The annual get-together of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) officers and their family members took place in grandeur at the Officers’ Mess, Regimental Center SLLI on 30th December evening.\r\n\r\nThis yearly event is an initiative by Major General K A D A Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, the Colonel of the Regiment, the Sri Lanka Light Infantry with the idea of strengthening regimental and family ties among the families of Sri Lanka Light Infantry officers.\r\n\r\nLight Infantry officers along-with their spouses and children began to arrive at the Officers Mess premises on Friday (30 December) since early evening and as dusk was falling Major General K A D A Karunasekara too joined with them with Mrs. Dananjani Karunasekara the Hon. President of Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment extending goodwill.\r\n\r\nThe evening party saw its formal beginning with a delicious welcome drink being offered amidst a piece of party musical play. The children of officers also flocked around places of kiddies’ sports events while their parents seen interacting with the gathering and enjoying food and beverages at various stalls arranged impressively on several corners at the venue. It was a grade opportunity as the family photograph were taken at the officers\' mess and all the families were given a small gift too.\r\n\r\nThe annual get together also included a tombola lottery draw, a host of music and dancing items and children’s sports events to the amusement of those participants.
