As such Sinhala and Hindu New Year is symbol of togetherness and harmony, festival atmosphere prevailed in the \"Ruzzle Hyne\" playground on 09 April 2016 when Officers and soldiers at Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Light Infantry gathered to mark this national fiesta by holding an enjoyable New Year festival.\r\n\r\nColonel of the Regiment, Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP VSV USP ndu psc took time off to attend the festival as the Chief Guest. Many Senior Officers accompanied their beloved once to this event.\r\n\r\nMarathon, cadjan weaving, bun eating, pillow-fighting, tug of war, kanamutti bindeema, Coconut scraping, Lime and spoon, placing the eye on the elephant, fancy dress parade, Beauty Queen contest\r\nand a number of other traditional games dominated the occasion.\r\n\r\nAt the end of the festival, Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP VSV USP ndu psc and Mrs. Dananjani Karunasekara gave away gifts for winners.
