DISTRIBUTION OF \"VIRUSARA\" PRIVILEGE CARDS AMONG THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF FALLEN WAR HEROES AND DISABLED WAR HEROES OF THE WESTERN PROVINCE
State Minister of Defence, Hon. Ruwan Wijewardane distributed \"Virusara\" privilege cards among the family members of fallen war heroes and disabled war heroes of the western province in a ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry in Panagoda on 8 April 2016.
A total of 1724 beneficiaries including 1362 beneficiaries from Army, 283 from Navy, 45 from Air Force, 24 from Police and 10 from Civil Security Department received Virusara cards.
A large gathering of invitees, including Secretary Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Secretary to State Ministry of Defence, Mr A P G Kithsiri, Ranaviru Seva Authority Chairperson, Mrs Anoma Fonseka, senior ministry officials and military officers, Director General Civil Security Department and a large number of beneficiaries and their family members were present at the occasion.
This ceremony was facilitated by the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the guidance of Colonel of the Regiment, Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP VSV USP ndu psc.
