Oldest Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army celebrates its 133rd Anniversary
The Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, which was raised on 01st April 1881, celebrated its 133rd anniversary on 23rd October 2013.\r\n\r\nOn the arrival of Colonel of the Regiment, Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP USP psc, troops of Sri Lanka Light Infantry presented a Guard Turnout after he was welcomed by Colonel CD Weerasooriya RSP, the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry. Later he was ushered to the main area for receipt of military honours in a Guard of Honour, accompanied by the SLLI Regimental mascot, \"Kandula\".
