Mihindu Seth Medura celebrates a year of noble service
\"Mihindu Seth Medura\", a healing home for war heroes celebrated its 1st Anniversary of noble service rendered to brave men of armed forces who were maimed in the face of terror. \r\n\r\nOvernight pirith chanting ceremony was held to invoke blessing to war heroes being treated in this healing home on yesterday, (30 May). Chief incumbent of Bellanvila Rajamaha Viharaya Venerable Dr. Bellanvila Wimalarathana Tero conducted a sermon for everyone who participated at the event. \r\n\r\nMoreover, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development launched the website of the \"Mihindu Seth Medura\", www.mihindusethmedura.lk marking the first Anniversary. \r\n\r\nIt is the brainchild of the Secretary Defence came into reality on 30th May 2011 bestowing upon the needy war heroes who were maimed in the face of terror, and with no helping hand to assist them in basic day today needs. \r\n\r\nThis 46-acre \"Mihindu Seth Medura\" is tucked away in the green suburb of Colombo, and stands in splendid isolation, surrounded by the borders of the Aththidiya Bird Sanctuary. Tranquility of Aththidiya, suits best for the purpose, totally cut off from the busy urban environment paving the way for the nature to reinforce the healing powers. \r\n\r\nChairperson of MoD Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Commanders of armed forces, many officials from the Ministry and officers of armed services were among the distinguished invitees at the ceremony.\r\n
