“Pabala Mela” - Musical Show -2022

With the aim of promoting and revitalizing the tourism industry of Sri Lanka, a grand musical show was organized with the guidance of the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment SLLI, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, at Hikkaduwa Public Ground on 04 and 05 November 2022. It comprised of several entertaining items such as, dog show organized by the Commando Regiment, Army Anagampora performances, as well as a band display and a drill display performed by the Sri Lanka Light Infantry. This show added a novel experience to the public.

On the first day of the musical show, November 4, 2022, the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army & Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu graced the event as the Chief Guest. And also, the President of Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Mrs. Shiromala Kodithuwakku also graced the event. Famous artists such as Nihal Nelson, Nilan Hettatiarachchi, Dimanka Wellalage, Sashika Nisansala and Supriya Apablapasekera enhanced the glamour of event together with the band, “Arow Star”. And also, the dancing group, “Alex with Dash” added more attraction to the show.

On 05th November 2022, the closing remarks were graced with the presence of the former Commander of the Army Gen Daya Rathnayake (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc as the Chief Guest. Famous singers namely Manej Sanjaya, Mangala Denex, Noyel Raj, Dilki Uresha, Tashni Perera and Saman Lenin entertained the gathering with amazing ollection of songs together with the famous band “Sa-Ni-Da-Pa”. The dancing group, “Chathu with Rangina” added more splendor to the musical show.

Council Members of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, all other senior officers, officers and members of Army Seva Vanitha Branch - SLLI, Regimental Sergeant Major and the NCOs were present in the musical show together with their beloved family members. This exhibition and the musical show which were held at one of the tourism-based towns in Southern province, Hikkaduwa became a great success with the supervision of the Commandant – Regimental Centre, Colonel Sujith Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP and also the untiring efforts of the officers and the ORs of the Regiment.
