Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Jaffna and the Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment made his official visits to 4 SLLI, 11 SLLI, 15 SLLI, 9(V) SLLI AND 7 SLLI on 20, 21, 23 January 2025 upon assumption of duties as the 18th Colonel of the Regiment of SLLI.
During this visits the Commanding Officers of the said battalions received the Colonel of the Regiment with great respect upon his arrival at their battalions. Further at 4 SLLI a newly constructed gymnasium and saloon were inaugurated by the Colonel of the Regiment, as well as during the visit to 15 SLLI a newly constructed Headquarters Office Complex and Open Theater were inaugurated by the Colonel of the Regiment.
During this visit, the Colonel of the Regimental addressed the troops and explained the nature of the duties of all ranks and the duties assigned to each ranks and the importance of maintaining the safety of their jobs. He also explained the scope of a soldier's duties and how they should act, how to implement the laws of personal safety, the effects of drug abuse and the threats it poses to their family and work, how to properly manage their monthly salary as a disciplined soldier and the importance of treating their parents with respect and its consequences. He also conveyed the importance of not committing any act that would harm the honor and reputation of the Army and the value of being a professional soldier in the Army and wished all the officers and other ranks of the battalions good luck for their future.
Furthermore, during this visits the Colonel of the Regiment made commemorative notes in the Visitors’ Books and concluded his visits to the battalions. The Regimental Center Commandant also participated in this visit.
