SLLI Marathon runners secured 2nd place in 58th Army Road Race 2019

The Sir Lanka Army Athletics Committee organized the 58th Army Road Race 2019 was flagged off at the Nagoda junction in Galle on 23 March 2019 with the participation of nearly 100 athletes belong to 14 Regiments. The road race was terminated at in front of Sumangala College Hikkaduwa which covering distance of 21 Km.

The athletes represented from the Sir Lanka Light Infantry secured the overall 2nd place by showing tremendous competences on marathon running. Marathon runners of the SLLI Road Race Team occupied the positions of 6th, 9th and 16th places respectively S/ 97355 Pte Tharanga HHA , S/ 94186 Pte Anjula PKN and S/100694 L/Cpl Bandara RMYGN which provided solid path for this remarkable victory. A large gathering of military personals representing all regiments of the Sir Lanka Army together with Maj Gen ALSK Perera RWP RSP USP ndu - the President of SL Army Athletic Committee, Maj Gen HMJK Gunaratne WWV RWP RSP ndc psc - the GOC 58 Div and the Officials of the Army Athletic Committee took part in the occasion.
