Sri Lanka Light InfantryInter Battalion Athletic Championships -2015 got under way at the Mahinda Rajapaksha Stadium,Diyagama on 29 the July 2015. Total numbers of 14x565 from 24 battalions (including RHQ Bn) are participating in the meet.\r\n\r\nMajor General J R Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, Deputy Vice Chancellor,General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Ratmalana, who was the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony, received by the President of the SLLI Sport Board - Brigadier MP Gunasinghe RSP, President of the SLLI Athletic Committee - Brigadier CD Weerasuriya RSP, Centre Commandant SLLI - Brigadier MM Kithsiri RSP and Deputy Centre Commandant SLLI - Colonel GMN Perera RWP RSP. Regimental cultural group accompany the Chief Guest on his arrival up to the Grand Stand.\r\n\r\nAs per the programme, the Chief Guest hoisted the Regimental flag, 2/Lt RPWL Dayarathne SLLI and L/Cpl Silva MTW together lightened the Olympic lamp to symbolize the customs and traditions of the Olympic Games. After the declaration of Athlete\'s Oath and Referees\'Oath, the Chief Guest proclaimed the Opening Statement and commenced the events. More number of Officers and Other Rankers participated for the inauguration ceremony. Presentation ceremony will be taken place at 1600 hrs on 30 July 2015 at the same venue.
