NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER OF 1ST BATTALION SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY ASSUMES OFFICE

Major Asanga Rajarathne RWP RSP USP lsc SLLI assumed office as the 32nd Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry an auspicious time, on 14th February 2025 amidst religious blessings at the Battalion Headquarters of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry in Army Cantonment Panagoda.

On arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by the Second in Command and honored with a Guard Turnout, and assumed duties at the auspicious time by signing an official document amidst religious blessings. Further, the special occasion was followed by the formal troops address.

Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and all the success in his future endeavors.
