In line with the initiative of the Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, and the President of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Darshani Yahampath, a program was conducted to promote self-employment among soldiers and their families by encouraging banana cultivation on 30 th January 2025 at Regiment centre SLLI.
This initiative included an awareness program on banana cultivation and a distribution of banana saplings to soldiers of the regiment. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Plant Virus Identification Center, Homagama.
The event was attended by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, senior members, staff officers, and other ranks of the Regimental Centre.
