As the Chief Guest, Major General KADA Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Declared Open Pabala Mela Trade Exhibition and Carnival on 24 Dec 17.Over and above, he emphasized to improve the welfare facilities of the disabled, unable, and serving soldiers of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment.Parallel to the Pabala Mela 2017 and having identifying the basic needs in the area in Hikkaduwa, one of a newly constructed bus halt was opened in Hikkaduwa Baddegama road. Also, newly constructed house for a powerless old citizen was donated by the Col of the Regt same day.Huge crowd with their families were entertained by the Sanidapa through the carnival period.
