Colonel CD Weerasuriya Appoints As the New Center Commandant SLLI

Colonel CD Weerasuriya RSP, the Chief of Staff in the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) took over his new duties as the Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 26th August in a brief ceremony attended by Venerable Maha Sangha and a group of Senior Sri Lanka Light Infantry officers including the Regimental Staff Officers and non-Commissioned officers at the Regimental Centre Headquarters premises, Panagoda. The new Centre Commandant who succeeds Brigadier KJ Jayaweera RSP hence, is the 22th Centre Commandant in the proud Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment. Colonel CD Weerasuriya RSP assumed his new duties from Brigadier KJ Jayaweera RSP who was recently took reins as the new Director Media at the Headquarters, Sri Lanka Army. The new Centre Commandant SLLI on the auspicious day morning hours received the Ceremonial Guard Turnout accorded to him and took his new duties at the Regimental Centre Commandant\'s office at the auspicious time amidst Pirith Chanting by venerable Maha Sangha who also attended the occasion. A host of Senior Sri Lanka Light Infantry officers, Regimental Staff Officers and Senior Regimental Non Commissioned Staff Officers also attended the occasion. The new Centre Commandant addressed his regimental Staff and troops at the auditorium and spelled out his ambitions to work towards success by further improving the efficiency and the effectiveness of Regimental Staff officers and Other Ranks in the Sri Lanka Light Infantry. Colonel CD Weerasuriya RSP, a product of Mahanama Collage, Colombo is a senior Sri Lanka Light Infantry Officer with a distinctive service record extended to more than 26 years in the Sri Lanka Army as of today.
