BRIGADIER WSR PRASANNA RWP RSP USP AWARDED FINAL SALUTE BY THE TROOPS OF SLLI ON HIS RETIREMENT

A ceremony was held on 24 January 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Light Infantry to honor Brigadier SWR Prasanna RWP RSP USP who retired near completing 32 years of Army service.

This senior officer has given his excellent service for the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Light Infantry by holding many positions of command and staff appointments in different parts of Sri Lanka. He arrived at the regimental center premises on that day and received guard turnout and the ceremonial parade as per the tradition of the army. He addressed the troops and expressed his gratitude to all the officers and soldiers who participated in the ceremonial parade. Later, he went to the Infantry War Heroes Memorial to pay floral tributes to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the betterment of the country, and also appeared for a group photograph with the officers. After that, he participated in the official tea party organized in the Corporals' Club and had a friendly meeting with the Officers and Soldiers. Council members, Centre Commandant and the staff officers of the RHQ SLLI, senior officers and officers participated for the event in paying respect for the retiring senior officer.
