Adding another eternal memory to the history of proud Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, Light Infantrymen were became 01st place in the Inter Regiment Drill Parade competition - 2019 by competing with 17 Regiments. The contribution of Officers and other ranks towards the historical victory to shine the pride of Light Infantry, is special and remarkable. The Presentation ceremony was held at Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regimental Centre Panagoda on 03rd October 2019 and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General LHSC SILVA WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the chief guest.
This historical achievement was gained through long term practice and the commitment made by the members with the guidance and instructions of the Col of the regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General LM Mudalige RWP RSP ndu, and the supervision of Centre Commandant Colonel DAK Dissanayaka WWV RWP RSP, Officers and other ranks.
The great commitment of the former Col of the Regiment, board members, Senior Officers of the Regimental Council, Officers and Other Ranks of the regiment to win this competition is highly appreciated by the Col of the Regiment.
In addition, to the drill competition win, this Regiment was able to secure the 04th and 05th place in Pace Stick and the Band Competition respectively. All the members who dedicated upon this event specially be commemorate with a great respect.
