The General Assembly of the Sri Lanka Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch was held under the chairmanship of Honorable Chairperson Mrs. Dhanusha Weerasuriya at the Regimental Officers' Mess.
This association was established in the year 1990 at the Panagoda Army Camp, which carries out a very wide task of promoting the welfare of all the soldiers belonging to the Sri Lanka Infantry and their families. A large number of various welfare activities such as providing medical aid, scholarships and educational equipment, offering new houses and housing assistance for the soldiers belonging to the Light Infantry Regiment have been given so far.
In this meeting held on 26.03.2023, a new official board was appointed for the future improvement of Seva Vanita branch, and the welfare projects to be carried out in the future were discussed. Dr. Chandima Gayatri Wijesundara, Senior Lecturer of Ruhunu University, who came for this program on an invitation, also delivered a meaningful speech on the topic "Let's talk, think and create for women".
