163 individuals were benefited with the loanof Udarayi Oba

As per the concept of Lt Gen RMD Rathnayaka WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc (Retd) former Command of the Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of Sir Lanka Light Infantry, a loan scheme named as “Udarayi Oba” was introduced in year 2013 with the intent of address the financial requirements which suddenly arise to soldiers in family of Sir Lanka Light Infantry.

Another special episode of the Udarayi Oba loan scheme was taken placed on 01 March 2019 with the guidance of Maj Gen JR Kulatunga RSP ndc psc the Col of the Regt and the Commandant of DSCSC in order to released loans worth of 26.3 million among the 163 individual whom applied the loan since year 2017. The Council of Sir Lanka Light Infantry approved the suggestion with regard to transfer adequate amount of monetary from the revenue of Pabalamela Exhibition year 2018 to Udarayi Oba Loan Scheme and subsequently, respective amount of money was straightly deposited to PRI of the particular battalions in order to give away the loans to the respective applicants.
