Brigadier HAM Premarathne psc Lsc assumed duties as the 9th Commandant of the Army School of Logistics on 08 July 2023.
On arrival, he was received by the Chief Instructor, Col GTS Silva USP QLCO Lsc ato and then the Commandant was honoured with a colourful Guard Turnout at the entrance of Army School of Logistics (ASL). Amidst religious rites, the Commandant took over duties in his office. Afterwards, the Commandant appeared for the formal group photograph along with the staff.

VISIT TO THE NAVAL AND MARITIME ACADEMY BY LOGISTICS STAFF COURSE NO - 09
A delegation of ASL, comprising Student Officers following the Logistics Staff Course No 09 and Members of the Faculty led by the Chief Instructor visited Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 31 July 2023.

FIELD VISIT TO LANKA INDIAN OIL CORPORATION BY JUNIOR OFFICERS LOGISTICS COURSE NO 19
Student Officers of Junior Officers Logistics Course No 19 proceeded with their pre-arranged visit to Lanka IOC on 14 July 2023. After bestowing a warm welcome by the the delegation was accompanied to a briefing done by the Senior Vice President (Ops & LBP).
Next, the Student Officers continued with the pre-arranged field visit to the Jetty, Gantry, Lube Blending Plant, LAB and Tank Farm, where a comprehensive briefings were done by the staff.

EXERCISE STEERING WHEEL OF JUNIOR OFFICERS LOGISTICS COURSE NO 19
Junior Officers Logistics Course (JOLC) No 19 commenced with the participation of the Junior Officers from various Arms and Services. The “Ex Steering Wheel” was conducted from 01 July to 05 July 2023 followed by a Red Ink Correction (RIC) on 07 July 2023. It is one of the major exercises of the course which is designed to give an exposure to the Student Officers on planning and execution of Logistics/ Administrative functions of BAA during defensive ops and the mechanism of writing a Combat Service Support app

CRICKET MATCH OF JUNIOR OFFICERS’ LOGISTICS COURSE NO 19
Army School of Logistics (ASL) being the premier Logistics Training Institution in the Sri Lanka Army is presently conducting the Junior Officers Logistics Course (JOLC) No 19. In order to give much prominence to planning and capacity building activities, the course conducted the Cricket Tournament under the supervision of the Commandant, Brigadier EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO.
The tournament consisted of two teams from JOLC No 19. On 16 June 2023 evening the final match was played at the ASL cricket ground.<

THE HASH RUN OF THE JUNIOR OFFICERS LOGISTICS COURSE NO 19
Hashing originated in December 1938 in Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, by a group of Colonial British Officers. They used to get together at every week and participated in a game of hunting which was called “Hare and Hounds” to get rid of their monotonous life. From the excitement of chasing the hare and finding the trail they gained adventure, and those who reached the end of the trail were rewarded with beer, ginger and cigarettes.
