The delegation from the ASL visited the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) as part of its overseas study tour in Thailand. The ADPC is an autonomous intergovernmental organisation mandated to build institutional and community resilience against disasters and climate change impacts across the Asia-Pacific Region. Established in 1986, initially as a collaborative project under the Asian Institute of Technology AIT, the ADPC was founded to address the acute vulnerability of regional nations to devastating natural hazards.
