The Logistics Staff Course Number 11 paid a study visit to Lanka Indian Oil Company Terminal in Trincomalee on 07 February 2025 as part of their academic curriculum. The delegation was comprised of the Commandant ASL, Brigadier R T Lokuthotahewa USP psc, the Chief Instructor, the Faculty Members, permanent staff and 37 student officers.
Upon their arrival, the ASL delegation received a warm welcome from the Senior Vice President, Mr. Naveen Kumar, Sr. V.P. (Ops.) and other senior representatives of Lanka IOC PLC. Afterwards, the Student Officers continued their field trip to the jetty, gantry, lube blending plant, laboratory, and tank farm followed by onsite briefing.
Later in the day, the ASL delegation was given the opportunity to attend a workshop conducted at the JKAB Beach Hotel in Trincomalee by the subject expertise of IOC who have hands on experience in the field. There, the student officers took part in informative and productive lectures, as well as a very lively Q&A session. At the end of the session, selected the student officers received certificates in recognition of their performance during the workshop and the site visits. To mark the visit, the Commandant presented a memento as a token of appreciation.
