ARMY SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS TAKES STEPS TO PRODUCE ONE MORE BATCH OF OFFICERS QUALIFIED IN LOGISTICS STAFF COURSE

The inauguration ceremony of Logistics Staff Course (Lsc) for the middle grade Officers in the Sri Lanka Army was held on Wednesday (15). From the inception, the Army School of Logistics has graduated over 257 Officers, including Officers from the Tri Forces, Bangladesh Army, Maldives National Defence Force, Nepalese Army, Pakistan Army and Zambian Army. The course is designed to produce competent professionals in the fields of administration and logistics.

This year, ASL welcomed 37 student Officers including 32 Officers from Sri Lanka Army, 02 Officers from Sri Lanka Air Force, and Officers each from Sri Lanka Navy, Bangladesh Army and Zambian Army.

The Commandant of the Army School of Logistics, Brigadier R T Lokuthotahewa USP psc delivered the opening remarks. Later, during the course briefing and the term briefing, Colonel D M M C Wijerathna Lsc Chief Instructor, offered a comprehensive overview of the LSC Programme and Master of Business Administration in Logistics Management (MBA in LM) offered in collaboration with Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU).

Student Officers also witnessed a documentary containing glimpse of the LSC 10 activities. The Admin briefing was conducted by the Staff Officer I (A & Q), Lt Col A M C M Alahakoon SLASC. The briefing was followed by the Opening Gambit which was attended by all student Officers of the LSC No.11.

Later in the day, the Faculty members and the student Officers obtained religious blessings at Gokanna Temple and Koneshwaram Kovil.
