Major PGKS Thilakarathne RWP RSP USP assumed duties as the 13th Commanding Officer of the 11th Battalion, the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, on 07 July 2025 at the Battalion Headquarters in Valvettithurai, during a formal military ceremony.
The newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by Major TPCM Thennakoon, the Second-in-Command, and was honoured with a Guard Turnout. As part of the ceremony, Major Thilakarathne placed his signature in an official document amidst religious observances, symbolizing the formal acceptance of his duties. The Second-in-Command, all officers, and other ranks of the Battalion were present to witness this significant occasion.
