VIR DONATES COPRA TO ILLUMINATE SRI DALADA ESALA PERAHERA FOR THE 12TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Showing highest regard and deepest veneration for conduct of the annual Kandy Sri Dalada Perahera (pageant), the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops offered six tons of dried coconut (Copra) for illumination of the historic pageant to the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth Relic) in Kandy for the 12 th consecutive year on 17 July 2025. Upon the invitation of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters Central and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG graced this occasion as the Chief Guest adding colours to the occasion. Then, the Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment made offerings to the Sacred Tooth Relic at the upper chamber of the Sacred Tooth Relic after he was received by the Senior Officers and Chief Custodian then the Commander of the Army offered trays of Koppara symbolically to Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic.
