MASTERMINDS COMPETITION OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY – 2026

A challenge to emerge as a master of mind was initiated under the visionary concept of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG , the Commander of the Army, and the opportunity infuses a culture of knowledge and brain gain, crowning the Army with a qualitative workforce.

In view of that, the competition will commence from February to May at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) under the supervision of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

The competition is organized with the participation of all regular and volunteer battalions in the Sri Lanka Army. The competition will be conducted under a knockout format, ensuring a high-stakes environment where strategic competitors advance. The breakdown of the competition is determined by an official draw prior to the commencement, and the competitions will be executed over eight phases.

Accordingly, representatives convened to receive their designated tokens for the upcoming Masterminds Competition draw, on 27 January 2026 at the Headquarters SLAVF. The first phase of the competition will last from 23 February to 13 March 2026 at the Headquarters of the SLAVF.

This competition aims to enhance knowledge across military, current affairs, general knowledge, history and sports among the serving members. It is viewed as an intellectual, strategic, and team-building competition, often described as bringing together the "brightest minds" from the Army.
