SLAVF WELCOMES NEWLY COMMISIONED OFFICERS OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY

Newly commissioned officers who are ready to embark on their military journey visit Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force; the prestigious Home of Volunteers under the directions of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant –SLAVF on 09 January 2026.

On the arrival, 10 bidding officers belong to Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment were warmly welcomed by Brigadier H A Hapugoda USACGSC, Principal Staff Officer-SLAVF in a simple ceremony and extended compliments to their new journey. In furtherance, he highlighted the importance of widening their knowledge and gaining experience in performing their assigned tasks during their career. Moreover, he explained the challenges that they have to encounter in contemporary context.

Afterwards, Staff Officer 1 (General) of SLAVF educated them on the proud history, core values, long –held traditions and basic procedures of the Volunteer Force. Further, emphasized them on conduct, charisma and decorum expected by the Volunteer Force in their tour of duty in defending the nation.

Later on, they were briefed on roles and tasks of General Staff, Administrative, Officers, Logistics and General branches of the SLAVF by the respective Branch Heads. Subsequently, they received an opportunity to visit the Headquarters Battalion of SLAVF.

Camp Visit arranged for the bidding officers as the culmination of the programme.
