BRIGADIER RISHANTHA AMARASINGHE TAKES OVER DUTIES AS THE BRIGADIER LOGISTICS OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Brigadier A G C R Amarasinghe USP ato assumed duties in the office of the Brigadier Logistics of the Headquarters, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force with effect from 09 December 2025.

Following the military formalities, the senior officer placed his signature for an official document signifying the acceptance of his errand in the new appointment at the office amidst the religious rites and observances that invoked blessings on the official assumption of duties.

Brigadier Rishantha Amarasinghe enlisted in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army on 31st December 1993, as an Officer Cadet under the Intake SC - 08. After completing the basic military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and was posted to the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps on 16th December 1994.

The senior officer upholds a professionally and sound military stance in his stream of employability, and he served under key military appointments of command and staff in the course of his military service.

Throughout the military career, he has held various roles encompassing both operational and non-operational spheres. In recognition of his service to the Sri Lanka Army, he has been conferred with Uththama Seva Padakkama, Purna Bhumi Padakkama and other military service decorations.

A gathering of senior officers, officers and other ranks who attended the occasion extended their best compliments on his new appointment.
