SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE INTER REGIMENT VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP – 2025

Flourishing sportsmanship and augmenting sporting skills that lead for future avenues of the serving members, Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force was successfully concluded under the auspices of Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc – the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), at the Army Indoor Stadium in Panagoda on 28 March 2025.

Fulfilling the expectations of many enthusiastic and aspiring players, the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship is annually staged.

The energetic sporting event commenced with the gracious presence of Brigadier B M R J Bandara - the Deputy Commandant (Overlooking) SLAVF, and the teams represented volunteer regiments were vied for the supremacy from 24 to 28 March 2025 at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda.

The Commandant – SLAVF who graced the occasion as the chief guest witnessed the competition that was set in motion between the teams: Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) verses Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) in the super league, which were selected for the final battle. The tournament marked its grand finale with remarkable achievements that were fairly determined by the international referees abiding to the military formalities.

Bringing much ecstasy to the spectators, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps secured the championship in the women’s category with assuring display of performances pushing 3 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps to the runner-up position.

In the super league, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) advanced to the finals beating Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).

Corps of Engineer Services (CES) secured the division championship pushing Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC)to the runner-up slot.

Marking the winding up of another prospective schedule in the year plan of the Volunteer Force, the gratification was awarded for the successful and active organization with the vote of thank delivered by the Deputy Commandant - SLAVF.
