THE COMMANDANT VISITS THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE TRAINING SCHOOL

In the wake of assuming duties as the 58 ^th successor in the office of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc visited the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (SLAVFTS), the utmost training provider of the Volunteer Force on 20 ^th December 2024.The primary objective of the visit was to thoroughly review on the administrative and training aspects in the SLAVFTS.

The Commandant - SLAVF was warmly received by Colonel J A J Jayaratne KSP, the Commandant - SLAVFTS ,and in honour of his arrival to the training school, a Drive Past salutation was accorded for the senior officer in accordance with the customary military formalities.

Addressing the troops, the Commandant made a comprehensive remark emphasizing on the significance of adapting to the advancements in training and education that caters to the current demand of the country. Moreover, the Commandant conveyed his gratitude for all staff who contributed their cooperation to uplift the standard of the training school while extending wishes on successful training for the course followers.

In addition, enhancing the welfare facility for the serving members of the Sri Lanka Army and aiming the maximum utilization of the fascinating atmosphere of the training school, the Commandant proposed a detailed plan of furnishing three holiday bungalows with necessary guidelines that are expected to be realized as a welfare facilitative component in the establishment.

The Commandant planted a sapling at the camp premises, and posed for group photographs with the troops. Adding a lasting memory of the occasion, the Commandant was felicitated with a token of honour by the Commandant of the SLAVFTS.
