THE COMMANDANT OF THE VOLUNTEER FORCE VISITS 1 SRI LANKA RIFLE CORPS

Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG – the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) paid a formal visit to 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (1 SLRC) on 09 November 2024.

On his arrival to the camp premises, a drive past salutation was accorded, and the senior officer was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel W M G L P Weerakoon - the Commanding Officer, 1 SLRC.

The visit was scheduled as a formal drive in purpose of assuring the readiness of the battalion. During the visit, the senior officer arrived with directions, elucidations and instructions on the prevailing issues of the camp.

The itineraries of the day were unfolded adhering to the formalities of the visit. To the memory of the visit, thesenior officer placed a complimentary note of appreciation in the Visitors’ Book, and attended the event of planting a sapling in the camp premises.

Further, the senior officer visited the Coordinating Office that was principally established to serve as the headquarters of the Sri Lanka Rifle Corps and Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps. The senior officer was cordially received by Colonel A R D De Silva KSP - the Coordinating Officer of the SLRC/SLAPC.

The event was attended by senior officers, officers and other ranks of the battalion.
