THE COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE ADDRESSES NEWLY PASSED OUT PROBATION OFFICERS

The Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (HQ SLAVF) extended a warm welcome to the newly passed out Probation Officers who completed the Direct Enlistment Professional Officer Cadet Course Stage 1 of the year 2024, at the Headquarters SLAVF on 05 November 2024.

Officer Cadets enlisted in the Stage 1 underwent a three - month basic military training commenced from 20 July 2024 to 23 October 2024 at the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa.

The strength of 18 Officer Cadets was warmly received by Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG - the Commandant SLAVF at the camp premises.

Addressing the gathering, the Commandant viewed on streams of imperatives that are expected to be adhered as a commissioned officer during the military service. Further, the senior officer spelled out those professionals, who are experts under different horizons, joined the Sri Lanka Army to cater to the needs of the establishment and their service is warmly welcomed to be utilized in best possible ways in meeting with establishment aims and objectives.

In particular, the enthusiasm of the newly enlisted officers on joining the Army was highly appreciated,and due salutation was imparted even to their guardians by the Commandant in a gesture of gratitude. Concluding the remarks, the Commandant extended his compliments on their immaculate turnout and wish all the very best for their future endeavours.

As per the auspicious, Lieutenant Colonel M P Hettiarachchi - Staff Officer 1 (General) presented an overview of the Regulations of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force that is the stem of the establishment.
