THE VOLUNTEER FORCE OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY CELEBRATES THE 75th ARMY DAY

The military formalities aligned with the 75 ^th Army Day celebrations were accomplished at the Headquarters premises under the auspices of Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG - Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 10 October 2024.

The symbols of the national pride: the flags of the Sri Lanka Army and the Volunteer Force were hoisted by Brigadier J M T N B Karunathilaka – Inspector of Training and Brigadier B M R J Bandara- Brigadier Administration of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force respectively at the Headquarters premises followed by the Army Song being recited.A two- minute silence was then observed in remembrance of fallen war heroes. The message of the Commander of the Army, issued on account of the 75 ^th Army Day which denotes the significance of the day,was read to the gathering of officers and other ranks at the parade.

Coincide with the 75 ^th Army Day celebrations, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, has promoted a strength of officers and other ranks of the Volunteer Force to their respective next ranks.

Thus, the conclusion of the programme was marked allowing all officers and other ranks to observe with the main celebration of the Army Day that was live streaming on media platforms.

The Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army extends its sincere salutation and honour for the newly promoted officers and other ranks for their future achievements.
