Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) entered into an agreement “Virusaviya” with Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited which is the largest state owned insurer in Sri Lanka anchored to a pioneering legacy of financial stability on 01 December 2024 at the Head Office of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited, Colombo, pledging to provide assortments of insurance benefits for Volunteer Force members for another year commencing from 01 December 2024 to 30 November 2025.
Mr. Nusith Kumaratunga – the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Insurance Cooperation who is a distinguished financial professional warmly received the Commandant, SLAVF , and the agreement was officially signed between the Volunteer Force of the SriLanka Army represented by Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Commandant- SLAVF and Mr. Chandana L. Aluthgama, Group Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited.
The Insurance Package is being functioned between the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited since the year 2005 with a view of rewarding claims to risk circumstances of serving members of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and their families. The agreement renews by the both parties annually for another year and this package provides acollection of welfare benefits such as outdoor medical treatments, indoor medicaltreatments, surgeries, death, child birth etc.
In particular, government hospitalization, childbirth cover within inpatient benefit limit and normal child/still birth allowance at government and military hospitalization reimbursement have been increased for the agreement year.
The auspicious occasion was attended by Brigadier B M R J Bandara - Deputy Commandant (Overlooking), Colonel L W A D S Wickramasinghe - Colonel Welfare SLAVF, Mr. Mahesh Gamage - Additional General Manager and Ms. Nadira Gunawardhana - Actg. DGM - Underwriting of Sri Lanka InsuranceCorporation General Limited.
