SOLDIERS ENLIGHTEN ON ART OF LIVING

The lives of Military personnel are no doubt full of unique challenges, with a view of imparting knowledge on decorating the lives with fresh perspective, a lecture was organized under the guideline of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG. The lecture took place on 06 November 2024 at the Multi-Functional Hall of the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

The guest lecturer of the training day programme, Mrs. Anusha Gokula Fernando, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries, proved to be formidable force. Exhibiting an impressive personality with her many years of public service and experience working with people of all backgrounds, she was able to attract the military audiencetightly. During her oration, titled ‘The Art of Living’, offered valuable insights in personal and community improvement as well as the importance of creativity and personal connections in day today life.

Mrs. Fernando’s creative approach in the delivery of her lessons kept the audience engaged and amused until the end. Approaching the conclusion of the lecture, she interacted with the audience, answering their questions in a brief Q andA session.

Overall, the programme was a tremendous success. To express the heartfelt appreciation and gratitude of the HQ SLAVF, Mrs. Fernando was presented with a token of appreciation by the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General B K G ML Rodrigo RSP psc IGat the end of the event.

The training day programme was closely supervised by Deputy Commandant (Overlooking) cum Inspector of Training of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Brigadier B M R J Bandara and gathering of senior officers, officers and other ranks witnessed the lecture.
