PROFESSIONAL ENHANCEMENT THROUGH A DESIGNATED PLATFORM: DINNERS’ CLUB

A "Diners' Club" that is a formal, recurring event, designed to provide a platform for professional development, intellectual stimulation, and social interaction among military personnel, was conducted on 11 March 2025 under the instructions of Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc - the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) at the Headquarters SLAVF.

The interactive session was enlightened by the Guest Speaker:Major General Sajith Liyanage USP npspscon the topic of " Military Officers: Responsibility, Accountability, and their Role in the Clean Sri Lanka Initiative”. Major General SajithLiyanage is a scholar with a wealth of more than 34 years military service in the Sri Lanka Army. The senior officer possesses extensive experience in military leadership, strategic planning, and telecommunications roles, making him a pivotal figure in guiding his troops with exemplary character in the Sri Lanka Army. His leadership and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the army's strategic initiatives and fostering a strong sense of integrity and professionalism among the personnel.

The occasion was begun with the welcome remarks made by General Staff Officer 1 : Lieutenant Colonel PS Yapa RSP Isc.The insightful formative presentation withrespect to the topic“ The Clean Sri Lanka Initiative “ launched by His Excellency thePresident, highlighted the significance of the responsibility andaccountability of military officers to ensure its success as a militaryestablishment under the leadership of the Commander of the Army. The mentor stressed out the role of military personnel in achieving this visionthrough exemplary behavior, self-discipline, and ethical conduct.In particular, during this renaissance period driven bytransformative aspirations, the formative lecture signified a moment toconsider that the current context seeks to inculcate a clearer mindset,attitudes, and foster well-being and professional development.

In expressing heartfelt gratitude to Major General SajithLiyanage for sharing his knowledge, the vote of thank was proposed by Colonel T S B R Fernando -Colonel Training SLAVF with a request to an applause of round.The Commandantaccompanied by Brigadier B M R J Bandara - the Deputy Commandant SLAVFgave away a memento to the Guest Speaker in appreciation of his presence to the session.

The event was attended by Brigadier AMC Abeykoon RWP RSP USP - Principal Staff Officer,Senior Officers, Officers of the Headquarters SLAVF along with invited senior officers represented outer military establishments.
