THE COMMANDANT OF THE VOLUNTEER FORCE VISITS THE 5TH BATTALION SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY

Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) , made an official visit to the 5 th (Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (5 (V) SLLI) on 09 November 2024.

The Senior Officer was warmly received by Major NMTC Dharmasiri – the Commanding Officer,5 (V) SLLI, and he was accorded with a drive past salutation by the troops of the battalion in honour of his arrival to the camp premises.

During the visit, an interactive session that facilitated for a comprehensive address on timely concerns took place with a cross section of all ranks of 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 4 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Ordinance Corps and 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps.

The visit was primarily arranged on inspecting the battalion, and the formalities of the visit were unfolded with expected schedules. In particular, the gathering of all ranks was enlightened on well conduct and discipline that combatants should bear during their service in the Army.

Marking the visit, the senior officer placed a complimentary note of appreciation in the Visitors’ Book.The senior officers, officers and other ranks who represented the Volunteer Force and the Sri Lanka Light Infantry attended the occasion.
