Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, undertook an official field visit to several key military establishments from 28 to 30 April 2025.
The visit commenced with an inspection of the 9th(Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 28 April. In accordance with the scheduled itinerary, the Commandant continued his visit on 29 April by inspecting the 15 Sri Lanka National Guard, the 10th (Volunteer) Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, and the 14 Sri Lanka National Guard. On 30 April, he concluded the field tour with visits to the 11th (Volunteer) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment and the 2 Sri Lanka National Guard.
Addressing the troops, the Commandant emphasized the importance of the Government-led “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative, which seeks to foster a sustainable future through transformative attitudes, ethical values, and committed service. He underscored the Sri Lanka Army’s critical role in supporting and ensuring the success of this national effort under the guidance of the Commander of the Army. In his address, the Commandant also highlighted the importance of upholding military discipline, while actively avoiding harmful practices such as drug abuse, online gambling, and money gambling.
The Commandant concluded his visit with complimentary remarks in the Visitors’ Books of the respective battalions, commending their standards and contributions to national service.
The event was attended by Brigadier Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), Colonel Coordinating Officer (Volunteer), Senior Officers and Officers who represented the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force and the corresponding Volunteer battalions.
