THE COMMANDANT (OVERLOOKING) OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE (SLAVF) VISITED TO THE 3RD (VOLUNTEER) BATTALION OF THE SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commandant (Overlooking) of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the 3 rd (Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (3 (V) SLSR) on 14 th January as a part of efforts to streamline administrative and operational functions within volunteer battalion.

Major General Lanka Amarapala was accorded a drive-past salutation by the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops and warmly welcomed by Major FJ Samaranayake RSP, the Commanding Officer of the 3 (V) SLSR. Following the initial formalities, the Commanding Officer delivered a detailed briefing on the battalion's current activities and operational undertakings. Later, the senior officer toured the camp premises and guided key concerns related to the battalion.

In an interactive session with the troops, Major General Lanka Amarapala emphasized the importance of aligning with the Commander of the Army's vision to achieve the objectives of the "Clean Sri Lanka" initiative, launched by the government of Sri Lanka, which aims to foster a sustainable future by promoting positive attitudes, ethical values, and dedicated service. He also stressed the significance of grooming physically and emotionally resilient soldiers to fulfill the establishment’s goals and objectives.

To mark the visit, Major General Lanka Amarapala recorded his appreciation in the visitors’ book. The event was attended by Brigadier SKMMNK Mahanthe KSP, Brigadier Coordinating (Volunteer) at Security Force Headquarters (Central), along with senior officers, officers, and other ranks representing the Volunteer Force and the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
