Brigadier Janith Bandara assumed the office of the Inspector of Training in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force with effect from 11 October 2024.
Amidst religious rites and observances that invoked blessings on the new appointment, the senior officer placed his signature for an official document signifying the acceptance of his errand in the new appointment.
Brigadier Janith Bandara enlisted in the Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army on 25 January 1990, and has counted above 34 years of military service. The senior officer served the Special Forces (SF), which is an elite force of deterrence for the defence of the nation,showcasing his leadership of noteworthy.Being a successor to the clan of ‘Archers’, he has been executing duties and responsibilities in command, staff and instructional appointments conferred to the respective ranksin the course of his military career.
The military service rendered by the senior officer has been highly recognized,and valued with the award of service medals.
Prior to the present assuming of duties in the appointment, the senior officer served as the Brigadier Administration of the Sri Lanka Amy Volunteer Force.
The occasion was attended by senior officers, officers and other ranks in the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.
