BRIGADIER AMC ABEYKOON RWP RSP USP TAKES OVER DUTIES AS THE PRINCIPAL STAFF OFFICER OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Brigadier AMC Abeykoon RWP RSP USP assumed duties in the office of the Principal Staff Officer in the Volunteer Force on 25 November 2024 at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Signifying the acceptance of the new office, the Senior Officer placed his signature in a formal document that denotes career obligations in the new appointment at the auspicious time amidst religious observances and rituals in his new office.

Brigadier Chandra Abeykoon enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army on 09 December 1991 under the intake SC 3, and has counted above 34 years of active service in the Sri Lanka Army. The senior officer who is groomed by the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, which is an elite infantry regiment devotedly, consigned to safeguarding this land, has actively been serving in the Sri Lanka Army.

The senior officer has served in staff and command appointments conferred to the respective ranks, and he is a battle-hardened officer who engaged in key operations during the war.
