AWARENESS LECTURE ON STRESS MANAGEMENT

Coincide with the routine training day programme, the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force conducted a thought-provoking guest lecture on Stress Management on 24 September 2025 under the guidelines of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant, SLAVF.

The session was conducted by Brigadier R M M Monaragala USP, Director, Directorate of Army Preventive Medical & Mental Health, an expert in the field of mental health and social well-being. He explored a range of topics related to common mental health disorders, including anxiety and depression.

Further, the lecturer emphasized the lived experiences of mental distress among the members of the Army.

The key focus of the session was on practical stress management techniques, encouraging audience to reflect on the importance of self-care, mindfulness and support systems, especially within professional setting.

The lecture was attended by senior officers, officers and other ranks who serve at Headquarters SLAVF.
