Three days Orientation Programme for newly commissioned officers of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps was conducted with the objective of orientating officers on the organisation, role, and tasks of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and the Sri Lanka Army.
The Adjutant General Of Sri Lanka Army and The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Major General KTP de Silva RSP ndu psc welcomed the newly commissioned officers and emphasised the importance of discipline, leadership, professionalism, and commitment to duty.
The programme included lectures on Career progression of officers, Offences of severe nature and Welfare facilities of the Sri Lanka Army. These lectures were designed to guide the officers in understanding their responsibilities and the long term professional development.
During the programme, regimental orientation visits were conducted to the Sri Lanka Artillery, Sri Lanka Engineers,Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Corps of Engineer Services, and Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps.
In addition, visits were conducted to the 1st Regiment of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps General Transport Squadron and Supply Squadron, Independent Supply Depot, Independent Transport Squadron, and the Sri Lanka Army Catering Battalion.
The Orientation Programme was successfully concluded, enhancing the knowledge and awareness of the newly commissioned officers in preparation for their future responsibilities in the Sri Lanka Army.
