SRI LANKA ARMY SERVICE CORPS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH DISTRIBUTES DRY RATION PACKS AND ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO SOLDIERS AFFECTED BY “CYCLONE DITWAH”

The Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, together with the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, conducted a dry ration and essential items distribution programme on 03 January 2026 at 810 SLASC Composite Squadron, Pallekele, to provide relief assistance to Army personnel and their families affected by adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The relief programme was conducted in three stages at Diyathalawa, Pallekele, and Panagoda. During the first stage, subsidies were distributed to 82 Officers and Other Ranks affected by the cyclone. The second stage involved the distribution of subsidies to 48 Officers and Other Ranks. The third stage focused on providing dry ration packs and essential items to Army personnel in the Kandy area.

Major General KTP de Silva RSP ndu psc, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, together with Mrs. Ajantha de Silva, President of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, and Seva Vanitha Members, handed over the relief parcels. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks also participated in the event.
