ASSUMPTION OF DUTIES OF THE COLONEL COMMANDANT SLASC

Major General KTP De Silva RSP ndu psc of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Adjutant General of Sri Lanka Army assumed duties as the 27th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) on 02 July 2025 at Regimental Centre, Panagoda. It is first time in the history of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps that a Snr Offr appointed from another regiment as the Colonel Commandant.

The incoming Colonel Commandant was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. A Guard of Honour of the SLASC troops afterwards saluted him at the parade square.

Amid chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha, the new Colonel Commandant signed an official document, signifying the acceptance of the new appointment.

Adding to the memories of the day, Major General KTP De Silva RSP ndu psc planted a mango sapling in the premises and posed for a few group photographs. As per the agenda of the day, he attended for the all-ranks tea held at the Regimental Centre. Further, he delivered a motivation and inspiration speech to all ranks during his troop address, in order to discharge his duties in collaborative and collective manner.
