ASSUMING DUTIES OF THE 22nd CENTRE COMMANDANT OF SLASC

Colonel SDNC de Silva assumed duties as the 22nd Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) on 02 October 2024 during a brief ceremony, held at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps.

The newly appointed Centre Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant and then honoured in a Guard Turnout.

After a short while, the newly appointed Centre Commandant was invited to the parade ground to receive the salute in the Ceremonial Parade, accorded in his honour by SLASC troops at the Regimental Headquarters.

Further, setting out his scope of work and duties, Colonel SDNC de Silva addressed the Officers and other Rank as a formality and emphasized the importance of working as a team to protect the image of the Regiment. This statement signifies his commitment to the development of the Regiment and his dedication to the responsibilities of his new appointment.

Then, symbolizing his acceptance of the new office amidst religious observances, Colonel SDNC de Silva, left his signature in an official document in the presence of a gathering of Senior Officers. Adding memories to the day, the Senior Officer was invited to pose for a few group photographs with the Regimental staff and was also invited to plant sapling in the compound.

Towards the end of the day’s ceremony, the new Centre Commandant participated in the customary All Ranks tea and took time off to share views with the attendees.
