18TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 3RD REGEMENT SRI LANKA ARMY SERVICE CORPS ASSUMED DUTIES

Major MMJL Dissanayake USP QLCO Lsc SLASC assumed duties as the 18th Commanding Officer of the 3rd Regiment, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) on 30th September 2024, at the 3rd Regiment SLASC, Pandulagama.

Upon his arrival, Major CMG Gamage Lsc SLASC, the 2nd in Command of the 3rd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Service Corps warmly welcomed the incoming Commanding Officer. A ceremonial Guard Turnout at the entrance greeted him, following established military traditions.

In a solemn and dignified gesture, Major Lasantha Dissanayake paid tribute to the fallen SLASC War Heroes at the War Heroes' monument, placing special significance on honoring their memory.

Following this, the Parade Commander invited the newly appointed Commanding Officer to review the Ceremonial Parade held in his honor, where he received the salute from the special dais.

The assumption of duties was officially marked as Major Lasantha Dissanayake symbolically signed the official documents amidst religious observances at his office.

In his first address to the troops of the 3rd Regiment SLASC, Major Lasantha Dissanayake set out his vision and expectations, emphasizing the importance of discipline, training, integrity commitment, and professionalism. To commemorate the occasion, a group photograph was taken with the 3 SLASC staff, capturing the significance of the day.

Following this, the newly appointed Commanding Officer participated in an all-ranks tea at the ORs' mess, where he interacted with the participants in a cordial atmosphere.

The day concluded with Major Lasantha Dissanayake addressing all Senior Officers and Officers of the 3rd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Service Corps.
