MAJOR GENERAL DKSK DOLAGE USP PSC ASSUME DUTIES AS THE 14TH COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE SLAMC

Major General D K S K Dolage USP psc assumed duties as the 14th colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps on 10th July 2024 and it was marked by religious ritual and formal military traditions.

The incoming Colonel Commandant was received by the Centre Commandant of SLAMC upon his arrival and Guard Turnout was held in line with military tradition. A brief religious ceremony was conducted to invoked blessings for his new appointment at the Colonel Commandant’s Office.

The newly appointed Colonel Commandant signed an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of office at an auspicious moment in the midst of pirith chanting. As a mark of his assumption of duties, a sapling of Ironwood was planted on the camp premises.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant addressed the all ranks and the officers emphasizing his aim and objectives and intended plans for the enhancement of the Regiment’s spirit de corps, quality of medical services, training and administrative functions and professional career development of Officers and Other Ranks. The new Colonel Commandant concluded the day with all ranks tea followed by lunch at Officer’s Mess at Regimental Headquarters.
