Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Celebrates 36th Corps Day with Pride and Distinction

The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps proudly commemorated its 36th Corps Day on 15 January 2026 with a series of dignified ceremonial, religious, sporting, and social events, reflecting the Corps’ enduring commitment to service, professionalism, and excellence.

The celebrations were graced by Major General P S Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc, Commander of the 1 Corps and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps. The day’s proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by a Ceremonial Parade at the Parade Ground, symbolizing discipline, unity, and regimental pride. A highlight of the Corps Day celebrations was the presentation of Appreciation Certificates by the Colonel Commandant to officers and soldiers who demonstrated outstanding achievements during the year 2025, thereby bringing honour and distinction to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps.

In keeping with the Corps’ spiritual values and long-standing traditions of religious harmony, multi-religious observances were conducted, invoking blessings for the continued success, strength, and wellbeing of all ranks. Thereafter, a group photograph was taken to mark the historic occasion, followed by an All Ranks Lunch, fostering camaraderie and esprit de corps among officers and soldiers alike.

A musical evening and entertainment programme were conducted for the soldiers on the same evening, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebrations. The commemorative events also included the Officers’ Get-Together held on the evening of 16 January 2026, followed by the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Get-Together on 17 January 2026. These gatherings provided a valuable opportunity for all ranks to reflect on the proud legacy of the Corps and to reaffirm their unwavering commitment to the noble mission of military medical service.

In parallel with the anniversary events, volleyball and chess tournaments were organized, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and both physical and mental fitness among all ranks.

The successful conduct of the 36th Corps Day celebrations once again stood as a testament to the proud history, unity, and unwavering dedication of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps in serving the nation with excellence and devotion.
