SLAMC BID FAREWELL TO RETIRING BRIGADIER S K JAYASINGHA

The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Regiment hosted a farewell ceremony in honour of retiring Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Brigadier Sampath Jayasingha at the Regimental Centre, Werahera, in which his 37 years of distinguished service were hailed and awarded accolades on 28 August 2025.

As the first segment of the ceremony, Brigadier Sampath Jayasingha was warmly received upon his arrival at the Regimental Centre and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance in accordance with military formalities. Subsequently, Brigadier Sampath Jayasingha accepted the regimental salute at the Ceremonial Parade at the regimental parade ground.

Adding memories to the day, Brigadier Sampath Jayasingha was invited to pose for a group photograph with all Officers and Soldiers. After a while, the retiring Brigadier Sampath Jayasingha joined with all ranks tea to have interaction with all troops arranged at the Cpls’ Club. After the proceedings, he left the SLAMC regimental premises through a Street Line formed by the Officers and Soldiers.

Summing up the series of events, the regiment hosted a Farewell Guest Night to mark the retirement of Brigadier Sampath Jayasingha, along with his spouse, at the Regimental Officers’ Mess on the same evening.

Members of the Regimental Council and many senior officers, along with their spouses, attended the farewell dinner, which reached its climax with the presentation of mementoes to the day's protagonists in appreciation of the service rendered to the Regiment and the Army as a whole.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment extended their heartfelt gratitude to Brigadier Sampath Jayasinghafor his commitment and dedication to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps and wished him a healthy, wealthy, peaceful and prosperous retired life.
