Major General P S Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc officially assumed duties as the 16th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps on 18 December 2025, at a ceremony marked by religious observances and formal military traditions.
Upon his arrival at the SLAMC Regimental Centre premises, the newly appointed Colonel Commandant was warmly received by the Centre Commandant. He first inspected the Guard Turnout and subsequently received a Guard of Honour at the Regimental Centre parade ground.
A brief religious ceremony was conducted at the Colonel Commandant’s Office to invoke blessings for his new appointment. At an auspicious moment during pirith chanting, Major General Subath Sanjeewa formally accepted the appointment by signing the official document. Symbolising the commencement of his tenure, a mango sapling was planted within the camp premises.
Addressing the officers and other ranks of SLAMC, the Colonel Commandant emphasised the importance of collective effort and mutual support, noting that the commitment of every individual is essential to achieving the Corps’ goals, vision, and mission.
The day’s proceedings concluded with a refreshment event attended by all ranks.
