Colonel K J Ranaweera RWP RSP Idu psc Isc officially assumed duties as the 28th Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) on 9 February 2026, during a ceremony conducted in accordance with religious observances and formal military traditions.
Upon his arrival at the SLAMC Regimental Centre premises, the newly appointed Centre Commandant was cordially received by the Deputy Centre Commandant and honoured with a Guard Turnout.
A brief religious observance was held at the Centre Commandant’s Office to invoke blessings for his new appointment. At an auspicious moment during the chanting of Pirith, newly appointed Centre Commandant formally assumed duties by signing the official assumption of duties document.
